Press artwork: Nanotyrannus

I had the privilege of creating the press release artwork describing Nanotyrannus lancensis, a mid sized tyrannosaurid from late Cretaceous North America. I worked closely with Dr. Lindsay Zanno and the team over at the NC Museum of Natural sciences, so a big credit to their help & guidance. After long debates over it being a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex, the news has dropped that Nanotyrannus is now indeed classified as it’s own separate species that coexisted alongside Tyrannosaurus rex. The artworks depict scenes where these two species may have interacted - in this case we have some pack behaviour, ganging up on a juvenile T-rex. However in the background, the looming adult T-rex may suggest that help isn’t too far away!
